I write about curiosity, attention, wonder, imagination, interpretation and resourcefulness for various publications and sites. I use photography and the moving image as well as drawing and print, and I retain a fascination for bookworks and independent publishing. Working with the things I notice around me, I tend to think that if you don’t call it art, it’s usually more interesting. Whilst I live in Brighton, where I cultivate my allotment and gaze at the sea, I’m also Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, and Associate Lecturer in Graphic Design at Sheffield Hallam University, which necessitates a substantial weekly commute between these cities: although this is sometimes exhausting, ultimately I’ve come to enjoy the different perspectives offered by my peripatetic life. I am currently working on a range of projects using words and images, including a series of publications under my own imprint, the Pam Flett Press. There’s a longer bio here. I welcome communication about my work or any aspect of this site. I keep the news page updated with my most recent activities.
